Our Client are undergoing expansion into global markets. In order to strengthen their Management team, they require a Supply Chain Manager to oversee stock and logistics.
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations manager, the Supply chain manager will play a key role in the future growth of the Company. Management of supply chain to ensure stock availability and stock holding budgets are held in line with business objectives and cost saving initiatives are implemented by introduction of SOP's and business forecasting models.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for implementing parameters and processes in ERP system to ensure supplier lead times, buffer stock, customer agreed delivery dates, stock availability and stock holding budgets are all met and maintained at levels to meet the monthly target.
* Operate a JIT process whereby stock is kept a minimum and operate a goods receipt.
* Bought in machines are delivered on time, at the right price and have supplier warranty agreements in place.
* Ensuring the supply chain team has goods when required for both internal and external customers.
* Identify and implement improvement and cost saving measures with the purchasing team, using a structured problem-solving approach.
* Acting as the main point of contact for all purchasing related queries.
* Oversee logistics of goods and ensure within budget.
* Forecast and plan for stock shortages.
* Reporting function to include: budget vs actual.
* Strategic outsourcing of new Suppliers to improve quality and price.
* Supplier negotiation to achieve cost savings.
* Supplier relationship management.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* 3rd level qualification
* 3-4 years within a supply chain environment.
* Proven negotiation skills.
* IT literate - MRP/ERP system knowledge.
Desirable:
* CIPS certificate
