Located in Sheffield we are currently working on behalf of a International Manufacturing company who due to their continued success are now looking to appoint a Graduate Structural Engineer.
Overall this is an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join our Technical Services Team. You will have the ability to respond to technical queries from construction sites, regarding specialist fabrications and other site-related issues, whilst providing engineering support to the Project Design, Technical Services and Sales teams. You will also aid the Technical Services team by offering practical, cost-effective solutions to problems posed by product end users.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Engineering support:
* Manage and maintain daily technical referral workload in a self-managed and timely manner
* Produce bespoke engineered solutions for non-standard design situations as required for ongoing projects
* Aid in the maintenance and development of standard design tools available to Project Design/Technical Services
* Offer design/engineering guidance to internal teams and answer queries
* Verify calculations produced by others
Dealing with Site-Related Queries:
* Respond to queries from site regarding the design and installation of products
* Respond to reports of issues surrounding the use/installation of products by assessing the information provided to make a preliminary diagnosis
* Carry out site inspections where issues are reported in order to fully diagnose the issue
Assiting Technical Teams:
* Provide the Sales teams with clear and concise information from which to prepare a quotation
* Ensure all necessary calculations, drawings and designs are produced and are illustrated to a good concise standard
* Attend site meetings as required to discuss specific requirements or address problems
* Resolve manufacturing issues with production
Product Development:
* Aid in the design or re-engineering of products to give optimal performance for lowest cost
* Look for new product solutions or re-engineer existing products to solve new problems
* Feed back industry trends or market gaps to the Product Engineering and Marketing teams
