Location - Glenrothes, Fife

Our client, an established and successful Semiconductor Business is now seeking to appoint experienced Lead Buyer to manage their procurement activities.

Working within the Finance Team and managing an annual spend of GBP6 million, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of procurement within the company.

Candidate Profile

  • Min of 5 years+ demonstrable experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment; ideally within the semiconductor industry or alternatively within electronics.
  • CIPS (preferred)
  • Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Positive attitude and able to forge strong relationships with internal and external customers
  • An inquisitive nature and thirst for knowledge of the business functionality
  • Strong problem solver and solution driven
  • Able to work on own initiative in this key stand alone role

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish a professional relationship with suppliers ensuring you work closely and are kept informed of any changes that may impact the business.
  • Working with the different areas of the business, you will challenge current practices, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing process changes.
  • Working closely with the finance team monitoring invoices and payments.
  • Negotiating with international suppliers, driving supplier reviews, audits and contract agreements.
  • The daily procurement tasks, obtaining quotes, placing purchase orders and analysing data in order to make appropriate sourcing decisions.
  • Monitoring and reviewing supplier KPI's, delivery and quality performance, and improving as required.
  • Identifying potential savings and implementing cost reduction initiatives for goods and services across the business.
  • Negotiating favourable payment Terms for the Business
