Electrical Design Engineer

The world leader in the manufacture of machinery for the production of Polyurethane foam blocks, with more than 700 machines in operation in more than 130 countries worldwide, are looking for an electrical design engineer. The successful candidate will have experience of producing electrical layouts and schematics.
In order to succeed in this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of working with PLC programming ideally with Siemens or Allen Bradley. Experience with AutoCAD electrical would be advantageous and knowledge of wiring diagrams is essential.
You will need to have a relevant Degree qualification or an equivalent HND/HNC.
Your working day will involve the following:
* Undertake the conceptual development of the electrical control and drive systems and promote ideas within the bounds of the specification.
* Review the systems design and specify the most appropriate control and drive equipment.
* Develop and engineer the system in accordance with the agreed framework and modules of the requirement.
* Produce electrical schematic diagrams, equipment layouts, BOM and cables schedules using approved methods and agreed CAD system. Ensure the produced technical documentation complies with national and, where appropriate, international standards.
* Develop, install and test PLC controller programs
* Develop control and drive systems in the most efficient and effective manner.
* Test control and drive systems against the functional specifications and document results and non compliance actions.
* Demonstrate verification and compliance following modifications of the electrical design and PLC programs.
* Assist the development of system design procedures and standardised ways of operating.
This role will involve travelling 4 or 5 times a year to international locations with all expenses paid.
