Becoming a Facilities and Health & Safety Manager with DCC
Location Brabazon House Concord Business Park, Manchester, M22 0RR
Salary DOE

As an experienced manager you will be accountable for buildings, health and safety and compliance with fire regulations at DCC's office, Brabazon House.

You will also ensure that DCC's other site Ruddington maintains a compliant environment for both customers and employees. This role will oversee Health & Safety across all of the DCC estate to ensure that DCC are compliant and taking necessary actions to remain so.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that our Customers, Visitors and employees are given the highest level of Customer satisfaction through the delivery of exemplary facilities services that will contribute to the smooth running Brabazon House.

What you will do
  • Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, employees and the Internal Audit Department to deliver a clean, safe, and effective environment for all those visiting DCC sites
  • Deliver a high quality, professional and robust safety and compliance management plan for the DCC Estate whilst ensuring the principles of risk and hazard management are upheld
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery facilities services including monitoring of PPM and reactive maintenance and the range of integrated FM services
  • Develop and implement effective management strategies of the FM Supplier, including the agreement, planning costs, timescale and quality of delivery
  • Delivering and suggesting innovation in the DCC estate environment for both FM and Projects to promote sustainability and efficiency
  • Provide expertise in relation to all activities relating to facilities and project management, as well as fit out and crisis management situations
  • Responsible for managing the Brabazon House cost profile including financial forecasting, budget setting, and engaging with finance and the wider Business Operations team
  • Managing building & infrastructure inspections to maintain statutory compliance and a high standard of environment for both customers and employees
  • Prepare and assist with plans, contracts, budgets and other documentation as required
  • Monitor the delivery of contractual deliverable and obligations with the FM Contract

What we're looking for:

  • Substantial experience as an Operations Manager in Facilities Management Services
  • Driving licence essential
  • Display high degree of personal effectiveness
  • Bring innovative and fresh thinking in procurement delivery and specialist areas of expertise to ensure high degree of client satisfaction
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills with ability to support and positively challenge clients and deliver negotiations
  • A clear, concise communicator with strong presentation skills (oral and written) and ability to positively influence
  • People management experience and skills including providing guidance and support to project teams and individuals
  • Have sound financial acumen and exhibit good commercial skills- will be dealing with budgets
  • Have a proven understanding of building regulations, H&S regulations and DDA requirement
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or qualified through experience. Relevant Health & Safety Qualification (NEBOSH, City & Guilds, IOSH etc.)
