Becoming a Head Of Business Architecture with SmartDCC:

The Head of Business Architecture is responsible for facilitating the construction of the Next Generation DCC cross industry business model.

As a Senior Leader, the role holder with work cross-dcc/customer/regulators with senior executives (exco/board), internal customers and cross-functional teams to define the future state business capabilities that will help customers achieve their strategic goals and enable the creation of multi-year technology strategy and roadmap to drive the transformation.

In Partnership with the CTO leadership team, the Head of Business Architecture will work to practically apply existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and how we will out evolve business and operating models in the most appropriate way. Conversely, they must be able to understand, monetize and operationalize new technologies.

As a member of the CTO leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the CTO strategy, and ensures its alignment with the DCC technology and business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

What you'll be doing:
  • Work with the Head of Next Generation Design, Enterprise architects and stakeholders to define a strategic plan for leveraging integrated business architecture as part of the enterprise architecture.
  • Provide strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business customers in defining or designing business capabilities, processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing, selling and enabling technologies based on business and end-user requirements.
  • Be comfortable using business architecture tools and techniques, including strategy on a page, strategic planning, business model canvas, disruptions and trends, balance scorecard, economical modeling, risks and interdependencies, process models, business capability modeling, ecosystems modeling, customer and user profiling, journey maps, and human-centric design.
  • Seek ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes. Research and provide information on technical trends and competitors' practices relevant to customers.
  • Working with stakeholders at all levels to raise awareness and visibility of what good Business Architecture looks like.
  • Lead in an inspiring and authentic style with the ability to engage and win the cooperation and support of multiple parties across business domains with different and often competing priorities;

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A proven track record and relevant experience in IT and business/industry or government
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
  • Knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and being able to practically them to new business designs and business models
  • In-depth experience with business transformation and process redesign methods
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
