Tool Setter
Our client is looking for a Tool Setter for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.
ROLE
- To prepare tooling for Machining operations.
- Assist with setups as directed by Supervisor
- Assist with fettling of components as required.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting tool for Horizontal Borers and Turning Centres as directed by Supervisor
- Co-ordinate with Programming supervisor to have AT tools kept in good order and repaired / Replaced as required
- Assist with preparing components for machining operations
- Working to COSHH regulations, risk assessments and work procedures
- Stamping and deburring components appropriately
- Being responsible for individual quality of work
- Ensuring all tooling removed is documented correctly and then returned to its appropriate location when not in use
- Keeping records of tooling / toolholders
- Ensuring equipment is maintained in good working order
- Ensuring own safety and safety of others in working practices
- Ensuring lifting equipment is used safely and stored appropriately when not in use
- Keeping work areas tidy and free from obstacles
- Working various machines when required to manufacture tooling / fixtures
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
- Semi-skilled in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience of setting Tooling for Milling / Turning Centres
- Previous experience working within a Manufacturing environment
- Use of industrial measuring equipment
- Knowledge of imperial measuring scale
- Health and Safety awareness
- Flexible attitude to overtime working

- Understanding of tooling geometry
- Basic IT skills
