We are working with a national social justice charity with more than 50 years' experience of changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime. Last year they helped to support, house, educate, advise and speak out for 38,000 disadvantaged young people and adults - and you could help them to make an even bigger impact going forward.

They are looking for Housing Support Workers to work in the West London and Slough Area so having your own transport is essential.

What are they looking for?

The role of the Support Officer is to provide support to promote independent living together with high quality housing and property management to service users in a group of properties in a designated geographical area. This will include Inducting service users into the property, conducting risk assessments and work with the service user to create an individual, strength-based Support Plan. There will be two support sessions per week in the first two weeks of residence, and one per week thereafter. Additionally support will include measures that will support service users to comply with their bail, HDC and other orders/licence conditions which will enable them to reduce the likelihood of further offending or a breach of their licence condition. This will also involve monitoring compliance with criminal justice conditions and requirements, reporting breach incidents and completion of relevant documentation to statutory agencies. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: ?? Supporting service users to comply with the requirements of their HDC/Bail conditions ?? Producing a realistic and achievable support plan to include using housing and accommodation services in the area to facilitate move on. ?? Ensure that all support plans and risk assessments are person-centred and inclusive of the high quality support being offered. ?? Ensure timely responsiveness to void turnaround is kept to a minimum and no more than a maximum of 7 calendar days where repairs, cleaning and replacement furniture and equipment are required. ?? Ensure that properties are kept to a high standard in line with our clients lettable property standards and the Decent Homes Standard . ?? Undertake basic cleaning tasks as required.

You will need experience of working with vulnerable young people between the age of 16-21 years old, and you must be experienced in working in partnership with external agencies such as social services, YOT, probation & housing benefit. You will be responsible for carrying out support sessions and devising support plans and action planning with the young person. Ideally you will be experienced in managing a large case load and offer support and guidance to young people relating to education, employment & training. Your role will also include requiring you to support young people with life skills and support to enable them to manage their tenancy or licence. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of young people with complex needs. You will also have experience of working in a pressured and challenging environment. This role will envolve you to be responsible for housing management - void inspections, H&S checks and rent management.

A DBS check will be required for this role - but this role is open to all candidates with or without convictions.

A full driving licence and own vehicle is needed to be successful in this role.
