Description of Responsibilities:

- To provide ecological support to the Fusion Area Wide Environmental team.
- Provide ecological technical support to the fusion sector teams.
- Review and analysis of ecological data to ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Review of licence applications and mitigation method statements for a variety of protected species.
- To fulfil the role of ecological technical advisor and provide assurance and ensure compliance with HS2s field surveys method statement, relevant Technical Standards and current legislation.
- Liaise with subcontractors, stakeholders and statutory consultees.
- Co-ordinate data for ecological mitigation and completion of licence applications.
- Production of fusion documents including, method statements, tool box talks, ecological trackers and registers.
- Site inspection around current mitigation works within the sector assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Needed for Role
Essential:
- Ecologist with experience of analysing survey data.
- Ecologist with experience in completing licence applications and mitigation strategies for GCN and Badger.
- Good understanding of mitigation protocols around protected species.
- Working on design and construction phases of large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
- Experience in survey requirements for various protected species in line with relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of implementing ecological mitigation.
- Project management of complicated ecological survey and mitigation schemes.
- Efficient report writing and IT skills.
