Base Location: Glasgow
Salary: GBP43,200 - GBP65,500 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time Flexible working patterns available 37 hours per week
About the Department
The Large Capital Project Services (LCPS) team is structured to provide the Group Executive Committee (GEC) and Business Units with independent assurance services. These assurance services help inform investment decisions and manage the performance of Large Capital Projects throughout their lifecycle to realise the benefits within the Business Case as well as the wider strategic Business objectives.
What is the Role
Working within the Large Capital Projects (LCP) Services team you will be recognised as an expert point of contact for the use of tools and the application of techniques relating to the effective and efficient implementation of Project Risk Management. You will coach the development and execution project teams to effectively capture qualitative and quantitative detail to enable their subsequent management of Project Risk.
Your responsibilities will extend to assisting with the ongoing development the Risk Management Framework and effective tools within the LCP portfolio of projects, involving the delivery of ~GBP1.5bn in Capital Expenditure. and facilitate workshops to capture risks and issues at Strategic, Programme and Project level.
You will deliver Risk Management standards against SSE's prescribed Governance requirements and deliver and ongoing raising of standards. You will manage and deliver risk reporting analysis and be part of a team of Risk Management professionals.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you should have significant levels of experience of working in a project development and delivery environment, with an ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the end to end project lifecycle. Ideally, you should have a qualification related to Project Management or Engineering and be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge of the risk management process and methods of risk identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring techniques at project level.
Experience using collaborative skills in workshops and coaching others to draw out relevant risks and issues impacting the programme and/or individual projects. You should possess a high level of aptitude with Microsoft Office and a good awareness of industry standard Risk Management software.
Excellent communication skills and have a strong customer focused approach. Strong influencing skills, a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships are essential for this role.
