What we're looking for?

We are looking for a Head of Business - We have global intentions and an agenda to hire top talent to get us there. This is an opportunity to own the sales and business development function of an exciting startup at the beginning of it's global journey.

This role will give you a chance to use your drive and commercial acumen to craft the future of the business. We are looking for a consultative and commercially minded Head of Business Development. You will be focused on developing a sustainable pipeline of high quality start-up and early stage companies to raise on our platform, and owning the development of a sales and partnerships infrastructure and strategy to grow rapidly and scalably.

You will need to have a leadership mindset, be comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment and being accountable for key decisions. You should have some experience in sales or business development, or be equipped with relevant skills for the role. You will have a keen interest in the start-up ecosystem, be highly personable and eager to use and extend your network to develop commercial opportunities for Us. You will equally need to believe our mission, advocating social impact in business, for people and planet.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and build a pipeline of high quality impact focused startups looking to raise equity investment

  • Maintain this portfolio of funded alumni for follow up raises and portfolio services

  • Develop, test and execute a Business Development and Partnership growth strategy

  • Build and maintain a network of referral partners that support a sustainable startup pipeline

  • Build a startup services ecosystem with key partners that add value to our funded startups

  • Create, test and maintain a suite of outbound and inbound materials to manage clients through the sales pipeline

  • Create and deliver a scalable, consultative Business Development and Partnerships process

  • Build, lead and develop a Business Development and Partnerships team.

Required Experience

  • Worked or been involved in the startup, innovation or entrepreneurial environment

  • Business development, partnerships and/or negotiation experience and mindset

  • Proven track record of successfully meeting targets

  • Leadership or management experience (commercial or non-commercial)

Preferred Experience

  • Worked in a technology or crowdfunding startup

  • Strong network of startups and early stage firms

  • Commercial leadership experience
