Responsibilities
* Lead EHS compliance & continuous improvement programmes across Gloucester site.
* Establish a safety culture that delivers superior performance in EHS. As part of the Site Leadership Team, set direction and lead by example to develop and embed a positive safety behavioural culture of the organisation
* Develop and mentor leadership investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses to identify causes and to determine future prevention
* Develop and maintain the annual EHS compliance and Governance programme with leadership to ensure that site key risks are managed and the site remains in compliance with INVISTA standards and with current and emerging regulatory issues.
* Develop and maintain framework strategy of site EHS policy and procedures to control key risks and satisfy the regulatory and company emerging issues whilst satisfying the site accreditations to ISO 14001 and ISO 9002;
* Manage EHS development to ensure all EHS functions including medical and security and operational specialised training is identified and maintained.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities and local community regarding EHS matters in line with Governmental Interaction process
* Lead the Legionella and Asbestos compliance program for site.
* Manage designated EHS projects.
* Member of the Site Leadership Team.
Requirements
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or equivalent e.g. NEBOSH trained.
* Experience with local regulatory compliance, applying for and obtaining environmental permits e.g. EUETS, permit compliance, and regulatory reporting.
* Deep understanding of relevant safety, health & environmental legislation & guidelines.
* Proven experience managing H&S in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Ability to influence and engage at all levels of the business
Desired:
* Good knowledge of PSM/HAZOP processes and risk assessment practices.
* Demonstrated organisational and motivational skills.
* Experience of carbon trading schemes; REACH.
