Role Description

You will be responsible for maximising profitability of existing business as well as nurturing and developing new business relationships with clients.

To operate across three distinct functions; New Business Development, Account Management and Customer service across our Commercial customer base.

You will utilise data on our CRM database which will include new and existing customers. You will also be expected to generate your own leads through prospecting, networking, researching and developing new markets.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring WP operates safely and with excellence in all business operations, transactions and communication.

Internal Sales

* Responsible for meeting agreed sales targets set by the Team Manager.

* Increasing profitability of existing customer base through identifying new opportunities and effective margin management.

* Identify and develop new business leads in your area via various approaches, ensuring that you engage with all prospects and take responsibility for closing the sale wherever possible escalating to senior account managers where necessary.

* Supporting the Commercial Account Managers in achieving their objectives through new business development.

* Responsible for growing our existing customer base through daily outbound sales calls to existing, lapsed and new prospects. The key performance indicators for this role will include daily outbound call activity and call conversion ratio.

Account Management

* Responsible for a portfolio of key WP existing customers, establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with the focus on business retention and growth of the account

* Identifying customer opportunities by upselling the complete WP Group product & service portfolio

* Able to manage a sales opportunity through the complete sales cycle escalating to senior team members where necessary

* Responsible for contributing to the collective sales success by supporting all fuel sales team members as required by seeking to offer quality referrals or sales on other's behalf. You will positively represent and promote the WP Group range of products and services at every opportunity.

Customer Service

Responsible for meeting agreed customer service standards in all areas of the fuels business via key performance indicators (KPIs) for WP Group. Targets will be exceeded through a harmonious and efficient working environment, effective planning, clear communication of objectives, implementation of the strategy and timely completion of agreed actions.


Manage the CRM database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity can take place to generate opportunities and new business

Experience Needed / Attributes Required

* Proven track record within a target driven environment: 1 to 2 years essential

* Knowledge / experience of fuels sales would be very advantageous. Alternatively logistics / distribution knowledge / experience would be an advantageous

* Competent office administration and IT skills

* High level of desire to achieve goals/targets in a fast pace sales environment

* Highly skilled communicator with people and relationship building skills

* Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels both internally and externally

* Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and to manage their time effectively

* Confident, well-organised, self-initiating and outcome focused

* Outgoing nature, positive and proactive attitude

* Self-motivated with a tenacious mindset

* Driven mentality with a 'can do' approach to everything they do
