Team Manager - Learning and Knowledge Management

Leicester City Centre, LE1

£33,464 pa, Full time, Fixed term to March 2022. 

We are seeking a dynamic and focused Team Manager to join our two established flagship Projects - YES and GREAT. Managed by Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. 

The YES Project (Youth Employability Support), is an established partnership of seven youth organisation and charities from across Leicester and Leicestershire who support young people aged 15-24. The YES project provides a wide variety of support packages in order to appeal to a wide range of young people who are ‘furthest from the labour market’ to achieve jobs, education and training outcomes. Support includes confidence building courses, social media and arts based provision, functional skill training, work experience and ‘world of work’ tours and specialist support for young people experiencing barriers such as homelessness or mental health problems. The YES team are proud to have been a National Lottery Award Finalist. The YES project aims to support 771 young people over the project lifetime. 

Similarly, the GREAT Project (Getting Ready for Employment and Training) is a free service designed to give members of families, who are currently not employed with the support they need to find work or training opportunities through bespoke tailored support, workshops and skills training. 

This project will support individuals in families who have multiple and complex barriers to training or employment. They may be at risk of social exclusion and will be furthest from the labour market. The project provides 1 to 1 support via Employment Support Officers alongside a range of activities to progress participants towards training and work. This includes, confidence building courses, Work experience, behind the scenes tours, CV writing, job search, access to Adult Learning and mental and wellbeing support. The GREAT aims to support 844 individuals within families over the project lifetime. 

You will need to demonstrate strong programme performance monitoring, compliance and quality assurance experience combined with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships. This role will have responsibility for line management, information management and performance reporting and be expected to enhance learning and synergies across the Projects. An established Manager and a team player you will need to demonstrate experience of leading and inspiring teams to deliver a diverse range of services to consistently high standards 

An understanding of the challenges presented by EU funding is essential, along with the capability to manage public services to achieve outcomes. Experience of bid writing would be an advantage.
