New Business Manager
Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Bath
Salary: £30,000.00 per annum
Closing Date: Monday 28th October 2019 (12 noon)

Julian House is a regional charity based in Bath, with ambitions to support more people than ever before, at a time when there is increasing demand for our services. Bath is where we have made our name and Manvers Street Hostel sits proudly at the heart of our organisation, alongside our network of innovative Rough Sleeper, Domestic Abuse, Young People, Criminal Justice, Employability, Gypsy & Traveller, and Refugee services, which now span the South West.

We are looking for someone to lead on the development of new business through local authority competitive tenders, grant applications and partnership projects.

You will join us at an exciting time, following a period of sustained growth, and help us explore opportunities for further development through existing and new services, and strategically manage relationships with key stakeholders.

You’ll need a track record of supporting business growth and some experience of contributing to winning tenders. Critically, you will be able articulate a clear vision for our services and their impact, in a way that is easy to understand, compelling and authentic. Getting to know our staff – their daily experiences and challenges – will help you to design creative and effective service models; building upon your subject matter expertise, knowledge of what ‘good’ looks like, together with an awareness of the external environment, to succeed in meeting new business targets.   You’ll spot opportunities for business development, design viable proposals and play a key role in bringing new services to life; ensuring that people, processes, resources and plans are in place to deliver the original vision and intended outcomes, that we can all be proud of.

Above all, you will share our passion for making a difference to the lives of the most marginalised. We’ll offer you all the support we can to help you be successful. Our experienced Senior Team work well together, and our collaborative approach has seen us all grow and develop as the organisation has been shaped and moulded. You’ll also receive a competitive salary and annual leave entitlement, plus the opportunity to work in the beautiful Georgian City of Bath each day. Spotted something you like that you don’t get in your current role? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from candidates with lived or learned experience and are proud to be a Disability Confident and Mindful employer.

Benefits

  • Cash health care plan
  • Up to 26 days annual leave (depending on length of service)
  • Employer pension contribution (up to 6% of your gross salary)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Staff Award Scheme
  • 20% Discount at Julian House Shops.

Julian House has a supportive culture, providing regular supervision and line management alongside externally facilitated reflective practice which enables staff to look after their own health and well-being whilst giving their best in their roles.
