Our client is currently enjoying a fantastic period of growth, and as such they have an exciting opportunity for a new Senior Arborist / Climber to join their team. Our client is a leading Housing Association, which improves the lives of thousands across the North of England, from Blackburn & Salford across as far as Hull & Derby.

As part of this growth they are expanding their Grounds Maintenance function and Tree related services.

To support their service delivery plans our client is looking for a new Senior Arborist / Climber to join their team based out of Halifax.  The post holder will be carrying out a rolling cyclical inspection program of all tree stock. Your focus will be providing effective supervision for the whole of the tree team, to safely deliver a very high quality service. You will have to produce and communicate on-site risk assessments, method statements and site plans in accordance with legislative controls including provision for planning and implementing emergency procedures.

This includes maintaining tree stock, aerial tree inspections and supporting the surveys, including gathering information on diseases and defects, including tree hazard evaluations. You will also be required to conform to risk zones, and equipment recommendations, as well as Helliwell valuations.

You will be operating as a point of contact for residents, responding to their queries, liaising with colleagues where and when necessary and ensuring that all tasks are carried out to an excellent standard of customer service.

 

In order to successfully undertake your role as a Senior Arborist based out of Halifax, Calderdale you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experience: 

  • You must have a sound understanding of current industry best practice in Arboriculture.
  • You will need to have a knowledge of diseases and defects, tree hazard evaluations, risk zones including equipment recommendation and valuation methods
  • You must have NPTC CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39 NPTC Level 2 Aware in the safe use of a manually fed wood chipper or equivalent.

Previous experience of working in the industry, including professional climbing ability to current industry best practice

Due to the nature of the role, you will require a full and current driving license, with access to a vehicle insured for business use
