Community Navigator
Salary: GBP19,800
Hours per week: 37.5
Fixed term contract: Until 31st January 2021 (with potential to extend)
Responsible to: Head of Health and Wellbeing
Location: YMCABCG Small Street, Walsall and a number of outreach locations across Walsall.
We are looking to appoint motivated and committed individuals to join our team working on our Walsall Children and Young Persons Healthy Weight Programme.
Working as part of YMCA Black Country Group Health and Wellbeing service you will support children and young people in Walsall, and their families, to maintain a healthy weight by creating:
* An environment that encourages people to live active and healthy lives.
* An ethos where the whole family takes responsibility for their own health with support when needed.
* Communities where a healthy lifestyle is seen as easy, desirable and the norm.
* An understanding of what works most effectively at an individual, community and population level in the different geographical areas and communities including and sharing effective evaluation and learning from others.
You will have experience of engaging children, young people and families in positive activities to improve their health and wellbeing. You will be a keen communicator with experience of linking people, organisations and projects together. Travel throughout Walsall is essential to this role.
The ability to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA and upholds its values is also an essential part of this role.
The applicant must complete an enhanced DBS check before taking up the role.
