An excellent opportunity to work for a well-established and successful company in a rural location as a full time Press Shop Manager
Role:
* Hands on role, overseeing a small team of 2-3 operators and a supervisor.
* Approximately 70% shop floor, 30% office work.
* Providing technical support when required.
* Ordering materials for the press shop.
* Ensuring that tooling is maintained, and liaising with the toolmaker to carry our regrinds.
* Setting small power presses, up to 12 tonnes capacity, including one coil feed press.
* Setting hand presses, guillotines and folders.
* Ensuring that production is completed to the specified timescales and ISO 9001 quality standards.
* Ensuring safe working practice.
* Supporting some operating duties such as guillotining materials.
* Excellent opportunity for career progression.
Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have some previous supervisory/management experience, and have knowledge of press tooling. May suit someone wanting an opportunity to move into a management role.
* Must have some power press setting experience, or some press toolmaking experience.
* Must be computer literate.
* Have good attention to detail, and work to a high quality standard.
* Good motivational skills and a positive can do attitude.
* Have good presswork problem solving skills.
* Able to work in a fast paced environment, and be able to work to deadlines.
* Must have a mechanical engineering background.
