Highway Lighting Electrician

Part of the SSE group, SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UKs leading Lighting Services contractors delivering a service ranging from new installations to removing and replacing existing stock. To continue meeting all contractual obligations and to ensure all agreed works are undertaken and completed on time, we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Jointers mate / trainee Jointer to join our team.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to work as part of a team and individually. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills; good knowledge of the local road network and layout would be advantageous.

The role involves working on Street Lighting and other highway apparatus, you will work outdoors and at height and have responsibility for operating a mobile elevated working platform.

You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of highway lighting apparatus including street lighting furniture, Columns, sign post, brackets, lantern & signs.
You will also undertake fault diagnosis and repair of faulty lighting columns, lantern replacement, Lamp Clean and Change, Painting, and periodic testing.

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience of working on the highway in the electrical industry would be desirable, in addition, you must have obtained a pass in the City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.

A full UK driving licence with the ability to drive over 3.5 tonne and up to 7.5 tonne is also desirable.

MEWP Category 1B certificate would be advantageous, however training will be provided.

As this appointment forms part of our growth plans, flexibility and willingness to travel is a requirement. You may also be required to work across the whole of the Cotswold area.
