An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bank Porter to join our Circle Birmingham Hospital, which is due to open in 2020.
Role & Responsibilities:
Hospital porters are essential in maintaining the smooth running of a hospital. A significant aspect of the job is transporting patient safely from recovery to the ward.
Security of the hospital site including its grounds and perimeter overnight.
To ensure all patients, visitors and staff are greeted and the purpose of their visit obtained in a professional and polite manner.
To forward any concerns noted on these tours to manager or, if building related, the relevant department.
To conduct regular internal and external patrols of the building
Transporting clinical waste and dangerous materials, ensuring that all clinical waste is moved safely and in accordance to policy.
Assisting taking patients from department to department
Taking supplies to theatre and ward
Moving specialist apparatus around the hospital
Transporting and changing of oxygen, gas and air
Checking that the front entrance to the building is clean and tidy outside.Person Specification:
Previous experience in a similar role
Be willing to participate in flexible working as required
Full British driver's licence
A calm, caring and empathic attitude towards patients, relatives & colleagues
An ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, with a commitment to collaborative working
Must be well groomed, with a clean and tidy appearance, and prepared to adhere to the Hospital's uniform policy.Additional benefits of joining Circle Health:
