A role with a difference! Working for a family run business within the Agriculture sector reporting to the Plant Manager.

If you have experience within Agriculture, you will know what I mean! If you don't, then this could be the opening you have been waiting for.

Due to the nature of the business, flexibility is key. Hours are generally around eight to ten-hour days Monday to Friday. On occasions you may be required to work a Saturday or Sunday depending on how busy the business is.

So, lets get to the role:

  • Plan weekly production through the Top Plant
  • Organise any additional staff working in that area of the business at that time - sometimes running plant alone, other times with 1 or 2 staff
  • Run the maintenance programme - liaise with on-site maintenance
  • Carry out basic maintenance and regular greasing etc of machines
  • Daily operation of the plant production
  • Liaise with haulage and trading on a weekly and sometimes daily basis regards intake into the plant
  • Carryout regular sampling and testing throughout the production process
  • Complete all necessary paperwork - re start up checks, product monitoring and any other daily weekly procedures
  • Liaise with QC re any product quality issues
  • Keep the plant clean & tidy on the inside and the intake pits and outside area tidy

The ideal candidate profile:

  • Ability to work alone and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to lead by example - supervisory experience preferable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan and execute working to deadlines
  • A can-do approach to challenges. See them as opportunities to make a difference.
  • Full driving licence
  • Ideally ability/experience driving JCB type machines - with certificates
  • Knowledge/experience/interest in machinery and the maintenance
  • Ideally Previous knowledge of Agriculture
  • Any training certificates: fire, First aid etc
