Base Location: Great Glen section - Mucomir Power Station
Salary: GBP19,249 - GBP25,421 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time 37 hours per week

What is the Role
SSE Hydro Generation operates and maintains over 1000MW of Hydro Generation and associated infrastructure. Our Operations and Maintenance Teams are responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Hydro generation assets. We currently have an opportunity for an Auxiliary Plant Attendant to join our Hydro Generation Operations and Maintenance team based at Mucomir power station.
The multi-disciplined team based in the Great Glen Section is responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state. You will assist with the safe operation and maintenance of fixed plant and associated water catchment area.
You will be responsible for routine work, involving safety inspections and checks in power stations and on dams, hill catchments and the maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment at various sites within the Great Glen. You'll carry out routine checks and help to keep all our plant and premises to a high standard of operational effectiveness and cleanliness. You will carry out environmental inspections and train to operate Generation plant.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will be a practical person with the ability to work as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively as you will be interacting with the public and colleagues at all levels within the business. On occasions, you may be required to work with other teams in other areas of the Hydro business.
Having some basic trade skills, you are able to demonstrate knowledge of civil maintenance works including ditching, road repairs and building maintenance. Previous experience of site work and familiarity with risk assessment process is an advantage.
Due to the nature of the role you will be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out duties out with normal working hours when required. You will be computer literate and will be required to become proficient using company software applications for which training will be given.
A full driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.
Applicants should ideally reside or be prepared to relocate to within 20 miles of Mucomir.
