Would you like to work on one of the UK's most important estuaries for birds? The warden will manage a diverse suite of nature reserves that are home to breeding waders, bearded tits and scarce herons, internationally important numbers of waders and wildfowl during the winter months, along with a splendid array of wintering raptors, including hen harriers.

This organisation's Dee Estuary team are seeking a dynamic and motivated warden to join a reserves team managing over 9000 hectares of nature reserve, covering over half the estuary, and comprising of a diverse suite of habitats that includes lowland wet grassland, reedbed, saltmarsh and inter tidal mudflats.

You will join their small, but hard working team managing and developing their reserves. Your role will be incredibly varied, and you'll carry out a range of tasks including - delivering habitat management, species surveying and habitat monitoring, supervising contractors, engaging with stakeholders, maintenance tasks, and managing their amazing volunteers and assistant wardens.

They are seeking an individual with experience of practical habitat management, working with and inspiring volunteers, surveying birds and other taxa, and working with machines. As well as good reserves infrastructure and estate maintenance skills, and ideally, some previous experience of line management.

The applicant should also have a good knowledge of natural history; particularly coastal species and habitats and be proficient at bird identification.

They should also be a strong team player with excellent organisational, communication, practical and inter-personal skills who is ready to inspire and motivate their team to achieve great things for nature.
