Handyperson – Nights

We currently have an exciting opportunity available at our Wednesbury site for a Handy Person.

Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer and/or Engineering Manager you will be accountable for the completion of all work set out by both. This will include the provision of support with regards to all maintenance/engineering tasks and projects, covering the likes of day to day building repairs, technical cleaning, factory surrounding areas maintenance and building/infrastructure upgrades.

Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, you will work closely with the Engineering department to ensure the upkeep of all on-site equipment and instigate improvement work where appropriate, ensuring that the company assets are maintained and able to achieve maximum capacity at all times. In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, faultlessly following HSE guidelines and Elis Health and Safety procedure at all times, you will be confident undertaking minor repairs and remedial engineering works to on-site equipment.

Possessing excellent communication skills, you will communicate daily with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager, providing feedback and escalating issues, including risks of safety or failure of equipment or site infrastructure, as appropriate.

We are looking for a self-starter, who is motivated and reliable, and possesses a demonstrable determination to succeed. Able to work successfully alone and within a team you will possess excellent communications skills and be confident working with a variety of individuals. You will be customer focused and passionate about delivering excellent results. Previous work in a similar role and environment would be advantageous but full training will be provided.

Hours of work are 22:00 – 06:00.
