This exciting opportunity will see you join a large and lively team, working for a very well known retailer. This company is impressive; they have grown substantially over recent years due to their mega success. They are financially stable, with a great reputation and people want to work for them. You will be based in their very large, modern, busy distribution warehouse within their chilled department.
This is an amazing role with a chance to go permanent to join an existing team. This is a full time ongoing temp to permanent position and after twelve weeks temping you have the opportunity to go perm and your rate will increase from 9.00 to GBP10.54
The Day shift pays GBP9.00 per hour for the first 12 weeks via Book Street then GBP10.54 per hour from 13 weeks , then increase to GBP11.95 after year 1
As a team you work together to ensure all products are picked, loaded onto a pallet, which is on a low level order picker, and then wrapped ready for dispatch. The team manage fresh chilled products, such as fruit and vegetables, where they have less than a 10 day shelf life, so working quickly and effectively is imperative.
You will work from 5 am, arriving fifteen minutes early so you are ready to start. You will work a seven hour shift, usually finishing at 12 pm or until job is done. You can boost your hours up by working on your day off, or earlier or later once you have proved yourself. There is an option for overtime to be made. They are open every day of the year, excluding Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Everyone works on planned rotas; the rota is over 4 weeks, week 1 you have a Monday 0ff, week 2 you have Sat & Sun off, week 3 you have Thursday off, and week 4 you have Tues/Wed off, you will be working some weekends not all, depending on your rota. If you work a Bank Holiday you get paid double time.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need experience working in a fast paced physical environment. You will need to be happy to provide reference details, pass a criminal check and be happy with ad hoc drug and alcohol testing. Due to the location being just outside of Chelmsford town centre, you will need your own car or motor bike unless you live in walking distance, however some flexibility can be considered if you live in Chelmsford and have a push bike.
