Procurement Team Leader
Procurement Team Leader - 12 weeks - Dumfries (inside IR35)
I am looking for a Procurement Team Leader for an initial 12 week contract based in Dumfries. Please note this role has been deemed inside IR35.
Within the role you will be responsible for developing and improving procurement activity for this Public Sector body. You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of team members, as well as some direct line management so previous experience of managing others would be highly advantageous.
You will be the go - to contact on all procurement related matters, including the development of commodity and contract strategies, delivering high value and complex tender processes as well as providing advice and guidance to external suppliers. The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree standard or equivalent in a relevant discipline or has CIPS, will have worked within the Public Sector so will have a strong understanding of Public Sector procurement governance as well as of EU and Scottish Procurement law.
You'll have a track record leading on procurement activity within Public Sector and will have the ability to develop and implement high level and individual contract strategies. To be considered for this role you must have:
* Experience managing complex procurement projects
* Experience negotiating and awarding contracts in accordance with procurement policy
* Track record developing supplier relationships
* Ability to manage contracts
* Experience creating Project Schedules
* Experience of managing staff
* Experience leading on procurement activity within a Public Sector environment
