Job Purpose Summary

As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for commissioning and maintenance and Emergency Light Testing Systems to BS5266 on social housing contracts.

The role will involve working under your own initiative and reporting to an administrator. You will be required to deal with both electrical contractors and clients so good communication skills are required.

Main Duties:

1. Test emergency lights on 3 hour burns, reporting and repairing of failed fittings. To be done on first time fixes where possible.

2. Adhering to Health and Safety and Quality guidelines, ensuring risk assessments are carried out before and onsite visits.

3. Completing all tests and recording results in the onsite fire safety log book.

4. Inspecting, repairing and servicing by investigating and diagnosing faults and making effective, economical and lasting repairs.

5. Respond to emergency calls within the timescale specified wherever possible.

6. Carry out routine maintenance when required.

7. Carry out all works in accordance with BS5266 regulations.

8. Has supervisory responsibility for junior or trainee engineers should they accompany him onto site.

9. Fully complete all relevant documentation relating to all aspects of role.

10. As and when required to carry out site supervision of operatives and liaise with relevant management both on site and office.

11. Take part in the on call rota.
