Salary: Circa GBP22,000

SPI Lasers sells its products globally and has its major business operations, including Research and Development, Manufacturing and Product Marketing located in both Rugby and Southampton, UK, with additional Sales and Customer Support locations in Asia and North America. SPI Lasers are introducing key new products at pace and this role is critical to the success of these implementations and growth plans.
As part of the SPI Lasers UK HR team, you will be responsible for the HR administration across the two UK SPI sites (Southampton and Rugby) as well as providing first line level of HR support for employees located in our Rugby site.
The role will include:
Be an expert in the HR Information System, being responsible for maintaining the personal information in the system accurately and on time, including salaries, absence, holidays, benefits, etc.
Administering the input to payroll for both UK sites on a monthly basis.
Checking and reconciling the Time & Attendance system for production employees in both sites on a weekly basis.
Manage ad-hoc employee queries regarding payroll, time & attendance and other issues as appropriate.
Administering personnel related documentation in the full employment lifecycle, from offer letters, contracts and induction through to leaver processes.
Deliver the onboarding process for all new starters in Rugby (including temporary staff) by issuing and conducting inductions, H&S training and new starter information.
Responsible for keeping personal files for Rugby employees together and up to date in a clear and organized manner.
Support recruitment activity in Rugby through organising interview schedules, assessment centres and liaising with candidates and recruiters as appropriate.
Training administration, including the organisation of internal training events, booking external training courses and maintaining training records.
Maintain employee based information including reports, organisation charts, etc
Responsible for the organising and effective running of local Health Surveillance, reporting any issues to Line Managers in a timely manner.
To be the first point of contact for general HR queries at the Rugby site through developing close working relationships with managers and all employees.
Support the UK HR team in broader HR initiatives and projects as required.
Willing to travel within the UK (to Southampton & Oxford) on an occasional basis (typically quarterly)
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Previous experience in an administrative function, preferably within a Human Resources or Payroll environment.
Ability to work with Databases, ideally working with an HR Information System.
MS Office skills at intermediate level (MS Word and MS Excel essential).
CPP qualified, or has a desire to become CPP qualified.
Preferable:
Specific experience working with either ADP or Workday
