Role: Underwriter - Bridging Loans
Location: Cheadle, Greater Manchester
Salary: GBP30,000

About our client
Our client delivers bridging loans, which are available through a nationwide intermediary base. They offer short-term finance solutions to business borrowers secured on commercial and buy-to-let properties. My client has been providing secured bridge loans for several years, helping their customers to achieve their goals. This year they have also started to provide term loans and as they grow, looking for the right person to develop with them.
Responsibilities for the position of Underwriter
* To ensure that all new business is reviewed within the agreed service levels and according to agreed mandate levels, KPIs, policies and procedures
* Request and chase necessary references, credit searches, quotations, valuations etc when required
* To minimise the risk to the business and the applicant with a strong focus on fraud avoidance
* Proactively manage a pipeline of cases
* Provide brokers and customers with accurate case updates at all points in the process
* To provide a high level of customer service at all stages of an application
* As we are a small team in a growing business, we may need you to perform other tasks as required
Skills & Experience:
* Previous Underwriting experience, ideally in relation to Bridge Finance
* Ability to manage a case load
* Experience of dealing with brokers and third parties
* PC skills including MS Excel and Word
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure and to targets
* Strong planning and problem-solving skills
