We're seeking an organised, friendly Catering Supervisor to join our client's highly successful caf?? restaurant business near Thetford, Norfolk. If you love good food, working as part of a happy team and thrive off the buzz of a busy atmosphere then read on???
This exciting opportunity is a permanent position offering a minimum of 25 hours per week, working a minimum of 4 or 5 full days including weekend work. The maximum amount of hours worked and how flexible or structured the hours need to be is up to the successful candidate as our client can offer some flexibility. As the role is based in near Thetford, you'll need your own transport to get there!
The Company
Our client are a top local destination for good quality, locally produced food and drink with admirable reviews from customers. They are a modern outfit with a traditional streak, yet offer a wide range of food from breakfasts, cakes, lunches, suppers and more including great options for Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten-Free diners too, all of which are made fresh on-site. Open seven days a week, with approx. 250 covers and full waiting service???it's a very busy, buzzy environment where each of the 35 staff really work together to ensure high standards and maintained and customers leave happy.
The Role
The Catering Supervisor will work closely with the Catering Manager, Chefs, Kitchen Porters and Catering Staff and will require great communication and interpersonal skills. You'll need to enjoy working with, leading and motivating others but also be happy to get stuck into hands-on duties yourself too. The position also requires a lot of back-office coordination and organisation, and the role is usually split 50/50 between working front of house and working in the office with administrative duties.

Other skills and experiences we require are as follows:
* Supervisory/Team Leading experience within a catering environment
* You'll need to be a friendly 'people person' and a real team player who enjoys working with others, helping them to do their jobs effectively
* An 'unflappable' nature with the ability to remain calm and focused when under pressure
* Top customer service skills with the ability to remain professional at all times and always deliver a great experience for all diners
* Full understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations as well as awareness and understanding of working with dietary restrictions and allergies (any formal training / qualifications would be advantageous)
* Good standard of administrative skills / experience, confident using computerised systems
* The ability to work weekends and bank holidays
