Our client is an established independent insurance broker in Sheffield who are a significant player in the industry and have seen continual growth over the past 10 years.

Due to their consistent growth they have a need for an experienced Claims Handler to join the team and take up the servicing of some very key clients, whilst providing occasional support to other members of the team.

The role will be responsible for Commercial risks, providing an efficient, high quality and reliable service to clients and ensuring there needs are met whenever possible. You will be responsible for creating new files upon receipt of new claims notifications, creating entries and updating financial records on the Acturis system. You will liaise with and advise clients on claims procedures as well as liaising with Loss Adjusters, Surveyors and/or Lawyers, colleagues and Insurers on claims.

You will be negotiating settlement of claims with clients, insurers and their advisers and where required, attend face to face meetings alongside Account Executives or third parties. You will be responsible for drafting and sending standard correspondence.

It is essential you are experienced in handling a wide range of commercial insurance claims, preferably Property, Liability & Motor. It is advantageous for you to come from a broking background with working knowledge of Acturis, however full training will be provided on this. Key skills will include, excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work under pressure and prioritise your work load, the ability to use own initiative and an aptitude for dealing with customers calmly and sympathetically.

There is a basic salary up to GBP35,000, 26 days holiday, annual bonus based on performance, pension and support for CII qualifications.
