JustTech Recruitment are currently looking for experienced Heavy Machinery Operatives who have setting and operating skills with Presses, Slitting and and Heavy machinery including Forklift Truck and Overhead Crane experience.

We have a number of clients within the Black Country and Birmingham areas looking for experienced staff. Our contracts will run through a temporary basis which is ongoing or temporary to permanent. Shift patterns are usually rotating on 2 or 3 shifts. Typical rotations can be 6am-2pm/ 2pm-10pm, or 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am. Competitive rates of pay and pay increases once passed off on specific setting and operating duties.

Duties for Heavy Machinery Operative:

* Setting and operating machinery such as Presses up to 1000 tonne, Cut to length, Slitting lines or heavy welding machinery.

* Operating Overhead Cranes, weighing up to 30 tonne through either hydraulic or Gantry systems

* Daily operations of ForkLift Trucks to move palletised stock from 3-10 tonne, finished goods or Wagon loading

* Banding Steel for production completion or distribution

* Use of measuring equipment such as Verniers, Calipers and Micrometres within certain environments

Successful Candidates for the Heavy Machinery Operative role should have:

* At least 5 years experience within a Steel Processing or similiar manufacturing environment

* Experience working within Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Automotive and Plastics environments would be desirable

* Operated Overhead Cranes weighing from 10-30 tonne within a Steel or manufacturing environment

* Operated Forklift Counterbalance Trucks weighing from 3-10 tonne within a Steel or manufacturing environment

* Used various equipment to band Steel correctly

* Operated heavy machinery with experience of setting and editing on-board software

Education Background required for the Heavy Machinery Operative Role:

* City of Guilds Engineering Qualification or industry recognised qualification
