ENGIE are recruiting for a Trainee Building Control Surveyor to be based at New Oxford House, 2 George Street, Grimsby DN31 1HB.This is a permanent full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm. On offer is a salary banding of GBP17,000 - GBP19,000, dependent upon skills and experience

General Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Building Control Team in delivering the Building Control function in and around North East Lincolnshire and gain the skills and knowledge to become a Building Control Surveyor. The successful candidate will report into the Building Control Team leader.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

Assist the Building Surveyors with their case load of Building Control applications in accordance with the Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.

Support the team in responding to public safety legislation relating to dangerous structures, demolitions and enforcement.

Assist the team promoting the services of Local Authority Building Control throughout the area and beyond.

Assist the team identify business opportunities to grow the business.

Deliver excellent customer service.

To assist with producing and issuing guidance to promote the Building Control Services

To assist in the administration of accurate records and procedures

Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.

Required Qualifications or Required Experience:

A relevant construction related qualification or working towards a relevant construction related qualification

A good knowledge of construction and construction working practices

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Ability to collate evidence and maintain records

Ability to prioritise workloads and perform to strict timetables.

Good IT skills

Excellent customer service skills

Full Driving Licence

Flexible to meet the needs of the service

Adaptable to change and new ways of working

Desirable:

Knowledge of Building Regulations and procedures
