Buying Assistant (Salary up to £19,500 - dependent on skills and experience)
ParkerSteel are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our Engineering purchasing department (Parker Tools division) to assist the team to ensure that all administrative functions are carried out accurately and within a set timescale. The role will involve dealing with enquiries for special products as well as sourcing and placing orders. You will be liaising with managers/buyers to ensure pricing is correct at all times as well assisting in keeping nil stocks to a minimum. You will be responsible for ensuring that confirmation of orders are chased and confirmed in a set time frame, as well as, progressing of orders and maintaining due dates, and reporting any delays. Experience in purchasing would be a benefit but not essential as training will be provided.
What are we looking for?
You will have the ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships with a good telephone manner. Good multi-tasking skills are a must with the ability to work well under pressure due to deadlines. You will have excellent administration skills with strong attention to detail and be computer literate with good skills in MS Excel.
