ROLE OVERVIEW
The purpose of the function is to provide strategic direction and leadership to the Training Department to ensure the overall establishment of the global training policy of TFS in order to demonstrate the qualification and training of TFS staff members involved in clinical studies.
The Head of Training is responsible to ensure client and stakeholder satisfaction with level of skills and knowledge of the TFS team, quality of training, training compliance, including the overall performance of the training team according to TFS policies, procedures and business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, manage, assess and continuously improve the training strategy
- Develop and maintain training related policy and procedures
- Develop the annual training plan
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of training curricula (core and function specific)
- Oversee the development of study specific training plans
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of introductory programs for new employees (outsourced and in-house)
- Manage the development, implementation and execution of the accompanied site visit program for CRAs (Clinical Research Assistants)
- In close collaboration with Human Resources, develop and implement a career development program
- Coach members of the TFS organization with respect to their personal development
- Manage the development of trainings and related training materials, including trainings intended for commercial use
- Manage 3rd party vendors for training, close collaboration with training associations, clients, SMEs
- Manage other internal and external stakeholders
- Functionally own the Learning Management System
- Provide input for proposals on training related line items
- Develop and implement a train the trainer program for process owners and SMEs
- Project manage training related projects
- Monitor the departmental budget
- Act as a line managers for the Training team, including goal-setting and performance review
- Keep the Management Team up-to-date on training compliance and where applicable training related issues and revisions to training standards
- Liaise with the EVP Quality & Compliance department within scope of experience
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory
- Formal education in fields of Medicine, Pharmacy or Biotechnology
- Significant experience in a clinical trial environment (community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, CRO, pharmaceutical industry)
- Expert knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Experience with learning management systems
- Experience in implementing training programs across multiple regions
- Hands on experience in implementing compliance practices in line with GCP
- Experienced professional with a full understanding of pharmaceutical and CRO industry practices / requirements and company QMS system (i.e. policies and procedures)
- Ability to lead and contribute to teams effectively
- Fluent in English
- Advance user of Microsoft Office applications
