Overview:
My client is an International specialist Contract Electronics Manufacturer, serving world-class customers in high-reliability industries by providing a complete set of electronics design and manufacturing solutions in both printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and full box-build manufacturing.

Job Purpose:
To be first point of contact for customer quality related issues. To enable production to maintain and improve quality, cost & delivery performance through on line Quality support and approval of standard operating procedures, suitability of jigs and visual inspection aids. Understanding, validating methods and supporting processes that meet or exceed customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Production Processes & Quality Systems

Owning product quality
Interacting with and liaising with customers
Publishing and monitoring yield performance inline with agreed KPI's
Quality lead for contract reviews / production readiness reviews / build reviews
Ownership of Quality Clinic and MRB process
Conducting review and approval of RMA reports
Facilitating the generation and issue of customer SCAR reports in a timely manner
Conducting review of Material Repair Review (MRR) forms in liaison with Engineering
Leading RMA activity, root cause analysis and customer feedback
Supporting internal audits

Change Management

Reviewing concessions / emails / engineering change notes ensuring compliance to procedures prior to job hold release to production
Approving rework loops / additional material review
Approving Standard Operating Procedures, suitability of jigs and visual inspection aids
Verifying and approving changes to process

Continuous Improvement

Carrying out process capability analysis and effectiveness improvements
Utilising Lean Manufacturing techniques and quality tools
Leading quality improvement plans
Performing yield analysis and identifying/leading CI projects
ROLE & PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
Role Specification

Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
PCBA experience is essential
Industry relevant certifications are desirable e.g. IPC
Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Quality and Process Improvement tools and techniques, D/PFMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control
Good Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and CAD and Gerber generation software experience
ISO 9001, AS9100D working knowledge/auditing desirable

Awareness of capability studies, Gauge is desirable
