Source are currently acting on behalf of one of our clients to find a Temporary Works Coodinator for one of thier amazing infrastructure projects in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities
• Co-ordinate all temporary works activities;
• Temporary works register is established and maintained
• Ensuring that a design brief is prepared with full consultation, is adequate, and is in accordance with the site requirements
• Identify residual risks at the design stage, assumed methods of construction or loading constraints identified by the designer of the permanent works are included in the design brief;
• Ensure a satisfactory temporary works design has been provided
• Make sure design checks are carried out by someone who was not involved in the original design this should include checking for: concept; structural adequacy; compliance with the brief;
• Register or record the drawings, calculations and other relevant documents relating to the final design;
• Make those responsible for on-site supervision receive full details of the design, including any limitations and guidance notes associated with it and prepare a specific method statement;
• Proposed changes in materials or construction are checked against the original design and appropriate action taken;
• During use of the temporary works, make sure all appropriate maintenance is carried out;
• After a final check, which is satisfactory, ensure that a permit to load (bring into use) is issued
• When it has been confirmed that the permanent structure has attained adequate strength and/or stability, ensure a permit to unload (take out of use) the temporary works is issued
• A documented safe system of work is in place and implemented for the dismantling of any temporary works;
• Relevant information for the health and safety file is issued to the CDM Principal Designer
Experience/Qualifications
• BSc, MSc, or BEng level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject
• Temporary Works Coordinator - suitably qualified
• Project managing and supervision of Temporary Works within UK Major Project
• Knowledge on British standards
• Excellent communication skills
