Our client a superb Registered Charity with its offices based in Leicester, are looking to recruit an experienced Fundraising Manager / Project Manager to join the organisation that provides support to individuals, their families and Communities around the UK.
You will be required to develop a sustainable major gift fundraising programme, driving income growth from new and existing individual donors

The purpose of the role is to develop a sustainable major gift fundraising programme, driving significant income growth from new individual donors.

The role:

*Develop and implement a strategic framework (strategy, plans, budgets, forecasts, KPIs and evaluation and monitoring systems) and key operational building blocks, processes, systems and protocols
*Using a pipeline approach, initiate, develop and maintain relationships with potential major donors and successfully solicit gifts of £5K+
*Undertake appropriate due diligence and risk assessment, put gift agreements into place and monitor against agreed expectations
*Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the organisation's work, in order to present current and prospective donors with appropriate, articulate and compelling information
*Achieve exemplary fundraising standards by ensuring all activity reflects the values and ethos of the organisation and is fully compliant with current legislation and best practice
*Attend all mandatory training identified by manager or the organisation
*Demonstrate a commitment to your own development; take advantage of education and training opportunities and develop your own competence
*Manage individual relationships with prospects, donors and influencers at the most senior levels, planning and executing (or overseeing, where appropriate) cultivation and stewardship plans
*Steward relationships in a manner that engages the individual with the organisation's work and increases the likelihood and value of donations
*Ensure donor thanking and reporting requirements are adhered to promptly and effectively to ensure future support is not compromised
*Raise the profile of the major gifts programme and develop strong, cooperative working relationships with colleagues throughout the organisation (both co-located and remotely) and external partners and stakeholders, to identify new opportunities
*Contribute to the organisation's marketing and communications plan (including requests for marketing team support)
*Manage the development and upkeep of major gifts communications collateral and digital content
*Represent the organisation internally and externally
*Work collaboratively with other charities whenever appropriate and champion adoption of this approach within the team
*Participate in and contribute to team meetings
*Use all opportunities to raise the profile of the organisation and its work
*Maximise the long-term value of each individual by understanding their motivations and identifying suitable projects
*Contribute ideas to and support the cultivation events programme (working in collaboration with the Events Team and other colleagues) and work with other colleagues and external contacts to take advantage of other stewardship opportunities
*Base all programme planning on evidence of the needs and desires of our donors, balanced against financial imperatives
*Share responsibility for, and actively contribute to, the development, delivery and evaluation of team, departmental and organisational strategies, projects and activities
*Ensure that the organisation's CRM system is used as the central data hub for all activity and that all supporter interaction is recorded
*Identify and research prospects via GDPR-compliant routes
*Collaborate with the Supporter Marketing team to identify prospects from the mid-level donor programme
*Undertake internal and external research and evaluation to understand the motivation, wants and needs of donors
*Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop compelling cases for support to enable appropriate financial asks and ensure donors' wishes are carried out as promised
*Analyse and report regularly on fundraising performance, monitoring progress against targets and KPIs
*Monitor sector trends/innovation and analyse other charities' major donor activity
*Ensure that data recorded is up-to-date and comprehensive, and adheres to GDPR and other legislative requirements
*Maximise Gift Aid opportunities, maintaining a high level of knowledge regarding rules pertaining to major gifts
*Undertake regular forecasting and budget planning

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
*Institute of Fundraising Certificate and/or Diploma (or prepared to undertake)
*Able to demonstrate knowledge of current UK law, compliance and fundraising best practice as they apply to fundraising
*Experience of achieving fundraising income greater than £1m per annum and managing expenditure of £150K per annum
*Proven experience of building long-term relationships with senior individuals and volunteers resulting in successful gift solicitations
*Excellent networking skills, with the ability to represent the charity to senior-level supporters and internal/external stakeholders
*Experience of using Salesforce/Causeview
*High level of computer literacy and a thorough understanding of CRM databases and their use in creating long-lasting supporter relationships
*Flexibility to travel extensively with some nights away from home
*Required to work regularly at weekends and evenings for which time off in lieu may be granted
*Required to work longer working days on occasion
