Logistics Coordinator
Blackburn, Lancashire
Teknion, a major International office furniture manufacturer is recruiting a Logistics Coordinator as part of their small team at the company's warehouse near Blackburn.
The role centres upon planning and arranging inbound sea-freight and outbound deliveries and supporting the Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and the London and Canadian teams.
Specific Duties Include:
* Develop relationships with freight forwarders and hauliers, negotiating prices and terms
* Communicate with and organise freight forwarders to manage inbound sea-freight and outbound worldwide sea-freight
* Book transport and sea-freight with 3rd party haulier companies and forwarders
* Liaise with the Warehouse Supervisor and 3rd party warehouses regarding deliveries and dispatches
* Work closely with the London and Canadian teams assisting with raising sundry purchase orders and communicating with suppliers
* Organise courier deliveries and maintain delivery and installation schedules
* Liaise with logistics departments at other Teknion companies in Canada and Malaysia
* Maintain despatching on the IT system and print delivery notes; work on inventory accuracy.
* Play an important role in the implementation of new warehouse management and barcoding systems.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Confident with IT systems and proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
* Accurate and with attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills.
* Organised, enthusiastic, able to manage time well and work independently.
* Versatile and adaptable with the ability to set priorities and achieve objectives.
* Well educated and must have experience of a similar logistics role.
Salary to GBP24,000 plus (depending on experience). Other benefits include - pension, healthcare etc.
