Paraplanner - Hale (J1007)
Description
The business employ approximately 75 people, currently 21 are in the paraplanning team. The Paraplanners are all Diploma-qualified, with a number due to obtain chartered status over the next twelve months.
Each Paraplanner will typically support 1, possibly 2 Advisers, also working in conjunction with the Adviser's Personal Assistant. The Paraplanners tend to be office-based with minimal client contact. Their focus is on undertaking the appropriate research to prepare suitability reports covering a wide range of wealth-planning areas. To maximise their time, they have three Paraplanning-Assistants within the team who undertake the more administrative tasks such as obtaining policy information, preparing illustrations and packaging up completed reports.
This is an exciting time for for the business, as they embark on ambitious national expansion plans which will see them build a presence in the major cities within the UK, which in turn will offer opportunities to successful staff within the business.
There are also development opportunities within the paraplanning team, with the ability for staff to progress to Senior or Manager status, with the role designed more closely around your professional interests and to provide greater responsibility and recognition. By way of example, the Senior Paraplanners currently are involved in complex product due diligence, mentoring newer staff, report-checking and training.
Responsibilities
To support and assist financial planners in the delivery of bespoke solutions to clients as part of the financial advice process.
To collate and interpret client information and to contribute to the formulation of suitable strategies to meet client objectives.
To prepare suitability reports which reflect the proposed strategy.
To identify disadvantages in the solutions proposed for clients and to bring these issues to the attention of relevant staff and to refer issues for escalation if required.
Other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities commensurate with the role may be required.
Qualifications
- Level 4 Diploma qualified in financial planning
- Good level of Investment and Pension knowledge
Experience
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years technical paraplanning experience and be capable of dealing independently with complex advice areas such as Estate-planning, lump sum pension planning, and capital gains tax calculations.
- Experience with FE Analytics and O&M Pensions Profiler will be an advantage.

- Basic holiday entitlement is 20 days plus all national holidays. In addition, the office is normally closed between Christmas and New Year. Holiday entitlement increases by 1 day after 2, 5, 10 and 15 years.
The ideal candidate will be seeking full time employment (i.e. five days per week, 9am-5pm)
GBP26,000 - GBP36,000 depending on experience.
