PSV/HGV Mechanic/Technician

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of Engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of vehicles?

If yes, then we might just have the job for you! We are looking for a skilled PSV/HGV Mechanic/Technician to join our busy Engineering team in Taunton or Bridgwater.

The salary for this Mechanic position is GBP15.17 per hour which includes a shift allowance. Earnings in excess of GBP30,500 per annum. The working hours are 39 per week worked over a 5/7 shift pattern.

What will you be doing?

The successful Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for the following duties:

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to find specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

Who are we looking for?

• A minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (ie City & Guilds Level 1 & 2)
• An ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment
• A flexible approach to working hours
• The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
• A full B class licence is essential and a PSV licence would be desirable. If you do not hold a PSV licence you must be willing to work to obtain a PSV licence with company training.
