Semi Senior Accountant - Long established practice

Semi Senior Accountant Qualified Or Qualified By Experience/ Competitive Salary/ Excellent Working Environment And Benefits

This role will be suited to somebody who has a full understanding of; completing statutory accounts, Vat returns and audit requirements and procedures. This is a varied and fulfilling role that would be an ideal opportunity for somebody currently working in practice to take their next step on the ladder. My client is keen to welcome an experienced candidate to join the team and fulfil all of the requirements of the role.

Job Description:

  • Completion and checking of all bank reconciliations for multiple business's/ projects
  • Preparation of all company's VAT returns
  • Prepare overheads accruals and prepayments
  • Authorise all new suppliers
  • Preparation of accounts for audit
  • Management of audit processes for statutory and consolidated accounts
  • preparing and submitting all dormant accounts with company's house
  • Clearing trial balances for completed projects (project close down, invoices, journals)
  • Payroll
  • Supporting wider finance function as required with any associated processes
  • Maintenance of accounting records - resolution of any associated queries
  • Ensure accounts compliance (profit and loss, balance sheet)
  • Contribute to monthly closings in collaboration with the Financial Controller
  • Liaise with Head of finance to support with process improvements

Requirements:

  • ACCA qualified or qualified by experience in a semi senior accountant/ assistant accountancy capacity
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of TAX and VAT returns
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and identify accounting issues and control issues
  • Previous experience within a group/ multi project business or accountancy practice
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
