Caretaker

Required for St Augustines' primary school 20 hours a week (Monday to Friday) including school holidays/closures.

We need a responsible, friendly, enthusiastic and highly committed caretaker who will ensure that our school is a safe, clean, tidy and secure environment to facilitate effective teaching of our children.

The post is part-time, with split shifts each day covering 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, including 24 days annual leave, to be taken during school holidays.

The successful candidate will:                                       

Have a positive and proactive approach to taking care of the school;

Be responsible for managing the upkeep of the school building and grounds with the ability to work alone using own initiative;

Be practical, dedicated, highly motivated, hardworking and flexible;

Be skilful with a proven range of site maintenance skills, including general repairs, cleaning, painting and decorating. Other skills such as plumbing, DIY including carpentry would be advantageous;

Be able to relate well to adults and children;

Be an important member of our school team and have a positive approach to this key role.
