Choice Teachers are searching for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors for our Secondary Schools based in Luton and surrounding areas. This role is flexible with full time or part-time availability, these positions are on a supply basis.

Working as a cover supervisor is extremely rewarding but also very demanding. There is a high level of responsibility, however, there is always a teacher close at hand if needed. The role will be carried out under the guidance of teaching staff and the Cover Manager, to support pupils in and out of the classroom, including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers.

The successful candidate is not required to hold specific qualifications or have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor. However to excel in this role you should:

• Possess excellent communication skills
• Be confident and enthusiastic with a passion for teaching
• Adaptable, flexible, be able to work at short notice and get to schools quickly
• Be able to manage large groups of students, some of whom may display challenging behaviour

Experience of working with secondary age children in any capacity would be an advantage, but not essential. Someone with experience in EFL, TEFL, CELTA, PTTLS and DTTLS would already have the necessary training to be successful. If you are looking to do a PGCE in the future then this is an ideal opportunity to gain invaluable experience.

We welcome all applicants whether you are looking to start your career in education or are looking to take your career in a different direction.

Ideal Candidate will be . . .

- Eager, Proactive, Hardworking and Organised
- Have experience working with children or young adults
- Able to support the management and behaviour of pupils
- Professional and presentable
- Current UK Driving License (not vital)

Candidates must have . . .

• An Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce which is within the previous 12 months** OR
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce which is on the Update Service**
• Have the legal right to work in UK
• Be available to start quickly
• Be able to provide two professional referees

**If you don't have a DBS certificate you must be willing to undergo an Enhanced check.
