Hull College Group is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the country, offering over 1000 courses to over 26,000 students every year.

We now have an excellent opportunity available for a College Counsellor to join us one day a week to deliver a quality cross-college, professional, impartial and confidential counselling service to students and staff in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

Supporting individuals with a wide range of issues including bereavement, mental health and wellbeing, personal stress and relationships, you will work with the Counselling Team Leader and Student Services Manager to contribute to the evaluation and development of the service and will contribute in one-to-one, group and cross-college departmental activities that support the well-being of learners. 

Candidates for this role must hold a Counselling qualification at Diploma level and BACP Accreditation or Equivalent (or eligible for/working towards this).  With significant experience of providing a professional counselling service, preferably in an educational environment with young people and/or adults, you should have a background in mentoring work, teaching, team leading, or group work and be capable of dealing calmly with challenging situations. 2 Years post qualifying experience is also desirable.
