HANDS-ON TEAM LEADER OF METALWORK FABRICATORS / WELDERS / FITTERS

LOCATION:  Based on-site around London and surrounding areas, within easy reach of all major road links and public transport. You may be looking for a team leader job in Tottenham, Enfield, Cheshunt, Edmonton, Finchley, Harringay, Barnet, Southgate, Walthamstow, Leyton, North London, Hertford areas. Happy to travel and have a full driving licence.

SALARY: starting on £18.00 - £20.00 per hour plus benefits and incentives, easy access to A10 / North Circular.

HOURS:  Mon-Fri 40-hour week. You will finish at 4pm on Fridays.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a small, close-knit team of fabricators, fitters, welders to be their very best and deliver each project on time and to the required standards.

You and your team will be mainly based on-site, fitting bespoke architectural products on a range of industrial and commercial properties.  You will be using MMA welding equipment on the welding and fabrication of architectural metalwork/ ironwork such as railings, spiral staircases, balustrades, gates and other architectural metal works.

As a hands-on Fabrication Site Supervisor / Installation Team Leader, you will be working in accordance with the requirements of the architectural and engineering drawings.  Planning work to make the most efficient use of materials, advising the procurement officer of any potential shortages of material and introducing more efficient working practices.

You may be a highly motivated and experienced Welder & Fabricator with natural leadership skills, excellent planning and installation abilities, confident with mechanical machining/ steel fabrications and SSSTS qualification.

As an Architectural Metalwork Team Leader, you will have a sound working knowledge of engineering and metalwork practices, be proficient in the use of all metalworking machinery and MIG / MMA welding equipment, a strong appreciation/adherence to health and safety procedures and a valid CSCS card.
