Course Leader of Psychology or Criminology

Up to £41,091 per annum (£24,098 - £39,329 pro rata depending on experience plus management allowance)

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Course Leader of Psychology or Criminology to join a talented and collaborative team in our successful and inclusive sixth form college. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to our students’ experience at Bilborough and their life chances by ensuring they are well supported and guided in lessons to achieve their full potential throughout their journey at college.

This role is an opportunity for an aspiring or existing course leader, whose primary purpose will be to enable students to make consistently good and outstanding progress. In addition, you will be involved in curriculum planning and development, supporting the Head of Faculty in ensuring continuous quality improvement within the subject and raising student achievement.  As an outstanding teacher, you will be responsible for the quality of teaching, learning and assessment activities within Psychology or Criminology.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Delivers consistent high-quality lessons with students, ensuring high levels of attendance, achievement and progress in Psychology/Criminology;
  • Is able to motivate and inspire students to raise attainment across all ability ranges and promote a growth mind-set that enables them to progress successfully to the next stage of their working lives;
  • Has extensive subject knowledge;
  • Has strong communication skills and a positive approach to continued improvement, teamwork and sharing of good practice.

If you have a positive, proactive approach, enjoy working with and challenging young people to achieve their full potential and are able to work collaboratively as part of a busy team we would love to hear from you. You will require a full teaching qualification and considerable expertise in Psychology or Criminology, backed by real passion for helping students get ahead. In particular, you will be deeply committed to inclusion and innovation, and will be ready to go the extra mile to make your discipline the subject of choice for ambitious students.
