A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Individual Giving Acquisition Team at the Charity. We are looking for an experienced campaign and direct marketing manager who can be both a successful marketing strategist and a fantastic campaign marketing lead.

If you have experience of supporting the delivery of marketing strategies, campaign planning and delivery, within charity fundraising, and if you also have experience handling budgets and agency contract negotiation then this role could be for you.

The post holder will be campaign manager for recruitment of regular givers through a mix of channels including telephone fundraising, door to door, private site and digital lead generation. In recognition of fast -moving changes to the marketplace, we're seeking a potholder who has the appetite to innovate; to think of new ways to not only optimise current campaigning, collaborating with agencies to re-invent existing channels; but also to propose new routes and products to market. You will be supported by both the wider IG team including data insight and the charity's newly established Innovation team to bring new initiatives to existing and new markets.

The role reports directly into the Deputy Director for Individual Giving and has line management responsibility for one Individual Giving Officer. The role contributes to the departmental strategy, and produces effective and useful reporting and budgeting on campaign activity.

About the Team:

The Individual Giving (IG) team is a dynamic department, with considerable and varied responsibility from acquisition and retention of individual cash and committed giving supporters; to the management of the charity's raffle, retail and legacy marketing income streams. As well as printed, television and digital media, we use a wide range of face-to-face and telemarketing agencies.

The IG team is ambitious to optimise the recruitment and retention of committed supporters striving to find new ways to engage over the long term. You will be joining a passionate team; with a love and aspiration to bring alive the Brand through inspirational fundraising.

About you:

You will be an experienced Campaign and Direct Marketing Manager, ideally within the charity fundraising environment - used to optimising your team and agencies' performance, creating and evaluating strategy and developing KPIs to perform against challenging targets.

Specifically, you will also have:

- Proven extensive experience in Campaign and Direct Marketing (in particular acquisition); able to demonstrate how you have impacted on strategy, campaign planning and delivery.
- Experience negotiating contracts and pricing with agency partners; and undertaking budgets and reforecasts.
- Demonstrable line management experience, with ability to inspire staff to deliver their best.
- An understanding of the challenges of door to door, private site, telephone fundraising, data buying, prospecting and digital campaigning to inform strategy.
- A high level of numeracy and intermediate Excel skills to effectively collate and interpret regular Direct Marketing reports.
- An entrepreneurial and proactive approach, with exceptional written and oral communication kills.

The ideal candidate will also have:

- Understanding and experience of digital marketing.
- Relevant Marketing Degree and / or professional qualification.
