The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Buyer, for a well-established, growing construction company specialising in commercial and industrial design and build projects. Based in Oxford, the job will be on a full time, on a temporary basis with the potential of becoming permanent.
Key Duties:
We are seeking a driven buyer who is detail-orientated, the selected individual is to be responsible for purchasing quality products for our business. Key duties will include:

Research, select and purchase quality products and materials required by the business.

Build relationships with existing suppliers/subcontractors and negotiate with them for the best terms and prices.

Develop new relationships expanding the current supply chain.

Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.

Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.

Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely deliveries to various sites.

Analyse and understand market trends and apply this knowledge to make buying decision.

Manage stock room, stock levels & report discrepancies to management.

Ability to travel to various sites across Oxfordshire
Desired Skills and Experience

Previous buyer experience (in construction field) - Preferred but not essential.

Previous experience/knowledge with construction materials.

Excellent computer and numerical skills - Previous experience with Microsoft Suite, Sage and Construct preferable.

Critical thinking & negotiating skills

Strong communication skills - Written & verbal.

Strong professional work ethic.

Good attention to detail

Self-motivated and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work efficiently.

A full UK driving license - Preferable, but not essential.
What we offer

28 days Holiday per annum.

Standard working hours - 37.5hrs per week, 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday
