One of the UK's leading independent Planning and Design consultancies, led by 19 Partners and employing around 360 employees in 13 regional offices across the UK is seeking a Architectural Designer/ Senior Architectural Designer.
Their well established and busy Architecture team has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Architectural Designer/Senior Architectural Designer to join either the Bristol or Reading teams (and that of the wider Architecture team across the Practice) to work on medium and large projects in the housing and residential sector.
The Bristol office is made up of approximately 50 people and is situated in modern open-plan premises on Victoria Street, a short walk from Temple Meads Train Station. The Reading office is made up of approximately 100 people and is situated in modern open-plan premises in Central Reading, less than 10 minutes from the station. Both the Reading and Bristol offices have teams working in Architecture, Masterplanning, Landscape, Graphic Design and Town Planning.

To have an impact in the role you will:
* Produce high quality feasibility layouts at 1:500 scale * Have excellent in-depth house builder and developer knowledge * Have working knowledge of current UK building regulations * Have an understanding of Planning issues and Local Authority design standards * Prepare Design and Access Statements including an awareness of opportunities and constraints * Have knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop and Sketch-up * Have experience in both contemporary and traditional housing on greenfield, redevelopment and regeneration schemes * Have the ability to manage medium and large-scale projects (up to 300 houses)
To succeed in the role, it is likely that you will:
* Have a flair for creative design * Have experience of working closely with Masterplanning / Urban Design teams * Be collaborative by nature * Be commercially minded and able to take on personal responsibility * Be committed and have an eye for detail * Be personable and professional with high levels of motivation, ambition and drive * Have an ability to manage your own time and workload
Additional desirable attributes would be:
* Consultancy experience (advantageous) and * An interest in business development and networking opportunities.
